The current building, located at Plaça de Maragall no. 2, is the work of Enric Catà and Francesc Guàrdia, who renovated it in 1911. The building is included in the city’s historical heritage catalogue.
It is a monumental and eclectic building, with applied decoration in the modernist style. On 1 January 1926, the Argentinian tango singer Carlos Gardel performed here as part of his tour of Spain.
